KHL, SKA St. Petersburg – Slovan Bratislava

quality on home side, no missing woes (back is last one Maksim Afinogenov). Slovan played 4 draws in regular time last 4 games, cannot it always. Now some players missing and SKA with Ilya Kovalchuk should won this easier

Zlín is decorated with a good defense, but now the mowing injury

The fact that it is on the second rung Zlín continuous table has merit especially precise Beranů defense. In statistics obrdržených Zlín goals are third best in the league for Slavia and Pilsen. In addition, currently has good form the team that managed to win four of the last five games. Another advantage is that the opponent that his outdoor rinks permanently successful.

Aries gets defensive but lately blow after blow. In the last encounter with Chomutov which, although Zlín won, lost two straight Beka stable. Figure in the hospital Hamrlík Martin and Martin Matějíček, even before the duel was injured also Oldrich Horak. Young talent Patrick Urbanec is also at the Junior World Championships in Russia Ufa. “In this constellation we were happy with the point,” suggested the club web Zlin coach Rostislav Vlach.

Last season they make great resault loosing in semi finals but hard to expect something like this in season 12/13. Too manny important players left, club dont have money, coach is also new and team is young.

On the other side Vienna will not have problems with match fitness, they played European Trophey. They decide to change team after very bad season, main players (and coach) stayed but they bring some quality players. They played very good in pre season and i expect their win today

Defiant Dudelange hold on to shock Salzburg

FC Salzburg 4-3 F91 Dudelange (agg: 4-4, Dudelange win on away goals)

The ten-man visitors survived a late comeback by the Austrian side to reach the third qualifying round for the first time.

F91 Dudelange survived a late comeback by FC Salzburg to reach the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round for the first time on away goals.

Aurélien Joachim’s first-leg strike gave Didier Philippe’s men a slender lead to take into the return in Austria. They duly extended that advantage on 26 minutes when Thierry Steinmetz broke clear on the counterattack before finishing past Alexander Walke with ease.

The hosts hit back two minutes later courtesy of Jakob Jantscher’s fierce shot from the right and they were in front at the break after Martin Hinteregger found himself in the right place at the right time to convert from a corner. The visitors showed their resilience at the beginning of the second half, though, with Joachim scoring his sixth goal in four outings to draw Dudelange level on the night and re-establish their aggregate lead.

Steinmetz’s second on 57 minutes stunned Salzburg and seemingly set the seal on a memorable victory for Dudelange. However, they were made to hang on after Sofian Benzouien received his maching orders 16 minutes from time, substitute Cristiano converting from the spot on 81 minutes and Gonzalo Zárate scoring from close range barely 60 seconds later.

The Luxembourger champions survived the late scare and, despite losing on the night, progressed to set up a third qualifying round tie against NK Maribor or FK Željezničar.

The race for places in Champions League group stages is hotting up with the second qualifying round set to take place this midweek.

17:00 Ulisses (Arm) vs Sheriff (Mol)

Armenian champions Ulisses currently sit in sixth place in the overall standings with just 16 points from 15 games and they clearly look much weaker than last season. Sheriff Tiraspol, on the other hand, have boosted their ranks with a number of high-quality players and they should have no problems winning this game. Hosts without first gk, Sheriff missing Pesic, Cheptine and Balima

Game will not be played on Razdan stadium (becouse of reconstruction for Italy- Armenia game)

17:45 Flora (Est) vs Basel (Swi)
Pick: Basel with handicap

Having been eliminated from minnows Shamrock Rovers last term, Flora don’t have much to hope for before the clash with Basel. The Swiss champions have started their league campaign with a win over Servette and they look to be in very good condition at the moment. There was changes in Basel team, some players leave but they also bring few players andthey are too strong for such opponents. They miss Jevtic, Ajeti, Salah, A Frei, Voser

18:00 HJK Helsinki (Fin) vs KR Reykjavyk (Ice)

Helsinki may be seen as hot favourites by the online bookmakers, but the Finnish champions could have problems breaking their defence-minded opponents. Helsinki are winless in last five games and will be without two important players, whereas KR will try to concede as little as possible, so there is every chance we will see a low-scoring game. They will play on artificial grass

18:00 Neftchi (Aze) vs Zestafoni (Geo)
Pick: Home win

Azeri champions Neftchi have been pretty convincing at home in their European games, beating the likes of FH Hafnarfjordur and Anderlecht, while sharing spoils with CSKA Moscow and Dinamo Zagreb, so they are expected to continue the good run against Zestafoni, a team that stayed without three key players in the summer. Neftchi played good in friendlyes and Chilean NT forward Nicolas Canales

Zestafoni  lost 3 leading players shota grigalashvili, giorgi oniani (both to cup winners dila gori) and nika gelashvili (bochum, 2. bundesliga)

18:30 F91 Dudelange (Lux) vs Salzburg (Aus)
Pick: Salzburg with  handicap

F91 Dudelange did well to achieve an 11-0 aggregate victory over Tre Penne in the first round, but they will have their work cut out for them when facing Red Bull Salzburg. The Austrian champions have won all their friendly game in pre-season while beating Wiener SK in Austrian Cup and they already look on top of their game. RB without Christopher Dibon , Alan, Jakob Jantscher and Georg Teigl

19:00 Slovan Liberec (Cze) vs Shakhter Karagandy (Kaz)

With the start of their league campaign still a couple of weeks away, Slovan Liberec could find it hard to carve out chances against a team that are in great form at the moment. Shakhter’s domestic season is in full swing, meaning they are fitter than their opponents at the moment and that should help them avoid a heavy defeat in Liberec. Trio long 4.755 km

19:30 Zilina (Slo) vs Hapoel Ironi Kiryat (Isr)

The match between Slovakian and Israeli champions looks to be too close to call seeing that the two sides are pretty evenly matched. Both sides have been very hard to beat last season, and I could see this game ending all squared. Žilina miss Majtan, Krnaš,Ondraš (Ceesay is doubtful). Also for Zilina weather can help, there was rainy and 15 °C while Israel team left country with 35 °C

20:15 The New Saints (Wal) vs Helsingborg (Swe)
Pick: Away win

With over a month to go before the start of their league campaign, Welsh champions TNS look completely unprepared for the clash against the best Swedish side. Helsingborg have been in scintillating form after the summer break and they are now set to face a team much weaker than those they are facing every week in the Swedish Allsvenskan. link

20:30 Skenderbeu Korce (Alb) vs Debrecen (Hun)

Skenderbeu Korce somehow managed to win the Albanian league for the second time in a row but they don’t look nearly good enough to match the best side from Hungary. With their captain absent and the pre-season training having just began, the hosts could find it hard to get something from this game. Debrecen have reinforced their squad with excellent striker Ibrahima Sidibe (suspended for this game) and they look like hot favourites in this one.

20:45 Valletta (Mal) vs Partizan (Ser)
Pick: Partizan with handicap

Valletta largely impressed against weak Lusitanos in the first round, but this will be a whole different ball game. Serbian champions are even stronger than last season when they narrowly missed out on a place in the Champions League group stages and they are expected to record a comfortable victory in Malta.

21:00 Shamrock Rovers (Irl) vs Ekranaes (Lit)
Pick: Home win

After reaching the Europa League group stages, Shamrock Rovers can be trusted to beat weak Ekranas, especially as the Irish side should be much fitter than their opponents with their domestic campaign in full swing. The Lithuanian side have seen their key players leave because of serious financial problems and they seem to be falling apart at the moment.
