St Johnstone – Hearts
St Johnstone boss Steve Lomas will ask David McCracken if he is ready to return early from his fractured cheekbone against Hearts as Saints face an injury crisis in defence.
Defenders Steven Anderson, Frazer Wright and skipper Dave Mackay are out suspended while midfielder Chris Millar is also banned after being red carded in the 1-1 draw against St Mirren last week.
McCracken had to have surgery after picking up the injury when he clashed heads with Celtic midfielder Victor Wanyama during the 1-1 draw at Parkhead on November 11. Craig Beattie, Jamie Adams and David Robertson are all injured.
Hearts midfielder Scott Robinson is unlikely to travel St Johnstone and faces a meeting over his future on Monday after his refusal to participate against Aberdeen.
Medhi Taouil (groin) is out of the trip to Perth, joining Danny Grainger (knee), Jason Holt (ankle) and Jamie Hamill (knee) in being absent.
Arvydas Novikovas (ankle) could return after missing the Dons win, Dylan McGowan is available again following a hip problem, while Ryan Stevenson is fit after coming off at half-time against Aberdeen following a head knock.

Chernomorets Burgas – Lok. Sofia
SOFIA (Reuters) – Police arrested six players from Bulgarian first division club Chernomorets Burgas and five from their city rivals Neftochimik on Thursday for questioning in an investigation into alleged match-fixing.
“I can confirm that 11 players were arrested for match-fixing,” a spokeswoman for the interior ministry said. “All of them are Bulgarians.”
She said that the initial investigation was triggered two months ago by signals of illegal betting but refused to reveal more details.
Local media reported that Chernomorets’s Rumen Trifonov and his team mate Preslav Yordanov were taken in handcuffs from the police station in Burgas and driven to an undisclosed destination.
Interior Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov said that four of the footballers would probably be charged.
“Our coach Dimitar Dimitrov told me that a few players had been arrested,” Chernomorets owner Mitko Sabev said. “We’re sure that they didn’t manipulate Chernomorets games.”
Neftochimik coach Dimcho Nenov said he was not aware that any players had been questioned and confirmed that all players took part in Thursday’s training session.
Chernomorets are sixth in the Bulgarian league with 27 points from 15 games. Neftochimik are top in the second division with 28 points from 13 matches.
Media reports of widespread match-fixing and corruption have been rife in the Balkan county for years but no one has been brought to trial and the European Commission has criticised the authorities for doing little to fight the problem.
In September, Bulgaria’s prosecutor opened an investigation into claims of match-fixing in four domestic games this season.
The first documented manipulated game in Bulgaria took place in 1949, when Levski Sofia and city neighbours Akademik drew 1-1 in order that CSKA, Levski’s bitter rivals, would be relegated to the second division.

Newcastle United march back into Europe tonight after a five year break and some interesting (!) times in that period.
Our opponents in the two-legged Europa League Fourth Qualifying Round are Greek side Atromitos FC from Athens and the match kicks off at their 10,000 capacity stadium at
8pm local time (6pm Uk time), when incidentally the temperatures will still be in the thirties!.
A nineteen man squad flew out to Greece yesterday;
Romain Amalfitano, Vurnon Anita, Gael Bigirimana, Yohan Cabaye, Adam Campbell, Papiss Cisse, Dan Gosling, Jonas Gutierrez, Steve Harper, Tim Krul, Sylvain Marveaux, Gabriel Obertan, James Perch, Davide Santon, Danny Simpson, James Tavernier, Ryan Taylor, Steven Taylor, Mike Williamson
Due to tricky and expensive travel arrangements there is unlikely to be a big travelling contingent with only a small amount of United’s official 500 tickets reportedly sold.
For those at home, you’ll be able to watch it on Premier Sports (Sky TV channel 428)….or hopefully your local pub.
A possible very strong team could be along the lines of the following though you’d assume that with Chelsea in mind less than 48 hours after the final whistle, we’ll see at least a few of our elite warming the bench…not that it will need warming up in this heat!
Krul, Simpson, Steven Taylor, Perch, Santon, Obertan, Jonas, Anita, Cabaye, Marveaux, Cisse
The following five matches have already been confirmed as televised live, with no doubt many more to follow.
A big interest (leaving aside the all important result for the moment) for the majority who haven’t seen him as yet, could be the likely appearance of teenage striking sensation Adam Campbell at some point.
After scoring a first half hat-trick against their Spurs rivals at the weekend, what better time to blood him on the European stage.
I think most of us will be expecting a relatively comfortable passage through to the group stage but I’m sure Alan Pardew will not be complacent in any way.
Always potential danger when facing a team you know little about but surely Newcastle should have too much for them over the two legs and fingers crossed, put it away tonight. Especially as a tribute to those who have made the expensive journey from Tyneside.
The latest bundle of washing came thanks to the last intense training session before the tour opener against Al Hilal in Innsbruck.
In an 11 v 11 game Nielsen (Pantilimon), Rekik, Zabaleta, Kolarov, Kompany, Lopes, triallist, Yaya, Tevez, triallist, and Bunn (Mancini) faced Lawlor (Johansen), Helan, Boyata, Savic, Kolo, Razak, Weiss, Scapuzzi, Elabdellaoui, Dzeko and Aguero.
Adam Johnson sat out the session as a precaution but is expected to be fit and youngster George Evans has been flown out to join the squad.
Newcastle with goalkeeper change, also without defender Taylor but with very powerfull attack (Demba Ba & papiss Cisse). I belive Chemnitzer can score but i also expect convincigly Newcastle win
ALAN Pardew will make a late decision on his goalkeeper for Newcastle United’s pre-season opener. Last season’s Premier League ever-present Tim Krul won’t be between the posts when Pardew’s side take on Chemnitzer in Germany.Krul will join up with his team-mates during the club’s 10-day tour of Germany, Austria and Hungary after being given extra time off because of his involvement in Holland’s Euro 2012 campaign.Instead, either long-serving Steve Harper – who was the subject of an unsuccessful bid from Birmingham City this week – or Rob Elliot will play at the Stadion an der Gellertstrasse.Harper didn’t play a competitive game for United last season, while Elliot made just one appearance against Nottingham Forest in the Carling Cup.Pardew admits Elliot wasn’t at his best at the City Ground, but he’s confident the 26-year-old has adjusted to the demands of playing for Newcastle after joining from Charlton Athletic last summer.“I don’t think there’s much to choose between Harps and Rob Elliot,” Pardew told SportMail. “They’re very different. One is trying to establish himself as a Newcastle player with a future ahead of him. Don’t underestimate him, by the way. I think the fans that went to the Forest game didn’t see the best of Rob.“He’s definitely a better goalie than that – he’s had to grow into the club.”Harper, meanwhile, has a wealth of experience, and Pardew insists that the 37-year-old, an influential figure on and off the pitch in the club’s revival, is still an asset to the club.“Harps comes from a different angle,” added Pardew. “He’s got huge experience – he’s seen it all before. We know he’s in the autumn of his career, but he can still do a fantastic job for us.“I have to pick and choose at what stage one of them should play.”Nile Ranger and Xisco have been left out of United’s squad for the pre-season tour of Germany.Ranger has an unspecified injury while Xisco remains outside the first team picture.Meanwhile, Steven Taylor – who has a slight hamstring problem – has travelled to Germany with his team-mates.However, the defender won’t be involved against Chemnitzer.
