Denmark » AL-Bank Ligaen » EfB Ishockey – Copenhagen 1

Copenhagen worst team and they have problems today:
At Copenhagen Hockey we look forward to Tuesday’s away game in Esbjerg, and towards the showdown has squad big challenges especially on the back side.

Marco Illemann and Christopher Lindhøj is both the U20 national team in Germany as a prelude to next week’s B-vm. Furthermore, Magnus Povlsen been sick and Anton Tough expected not ready after his injury. This means that the already slim squad has been reduced to four backer, including Mads Carlsen who has only played a few matches this year. In addition, also Matthias Asperup away with U20 national team, making it a somewhat depleted squad to fight through rain and sleet to Esbjerg.
There are several other teams also do without U20 players for the World Cup, but for a team like Copenhagen makes it extra painful, because in the case of players who all have full-time in the league.

In addition, there are a few players who have been running around with minor injuries, so there is a serious risk that we can not put up with three full chains, which of course will make a difficult task even harder.

Hockey » Switzerland » NLA » Kloten – Tigers 1

Kloten has much nmore quality, they won them in last 9 games. Important missing s are Du Bois and Von Gunten but it should be not problem if you look Tigers missings: Ennis, Alessandro Moggi, Popovic, Spurgeon, Brunner, Tom Gerber – important their players + both NHL stars

Lions finaly wake up and won 4 of last 5 games (two of last 6 loose on extra time). they also bring hreat Alexandre Tremblay (come from Visp where had 27 team points in 25 games, 15g, 14 ass), here debute on last game and scored a goal and made assist in his first game

 Scottish Cup, Aberdeen – Motherwell

Aberdeen boss laments his ‘worst injury crisis’ ahead of cup tie

Aberdeen boss Craig Brown has labelled the current situation at Pittodrie as the “worst injury crisis” of his career.

The Dons face Motherwell in the fourth round at Pittodrie with doubts over Ryan Fraser, Chris Clark, Jonny Hayes, Isaac Osbourne and Gavin Rae.

Gary Naysmith, Stephen Hughes, Ryan Jack and Rob Milsom remain out.

Brown said: “It is the worst injury crisis I have had to deal with.

“John Sharp and David Wylie tell me that it is the worst injury situation they have seen at the club.

“There is a queue outside the treatment room. I am jealous when I hear other teams being able to field the same team again.

“We can only keep our fingers crossed and hope the lads we call upon, guys like (Joe) Shaughnessy, (Cammy) Smith, (Jamie) Masson, who I thought all did well the other night, can come in and do a job again.

“These guys have to take the chance when it comes along and I thought Joe was a good example of a player who did that.

“We also have the likes of Jordon Brown and Declan McManus who are bursting at the seams to get their opportunity.

“I think it would be difficult though to put them all on at the same time. As long as they are surrounded by good experienced players then I think we can cope.”

The two sides met in the quarter-finals last season with Motherwell unbeaten in four games at Pittodrie.

Former ‘Well boss Brown said: “Against Motherwell we will have to compete in the midfield area. They are very strong in there.

“Their ability to pass the ball is probably the best in the SPL. So I don’t underestimate the task ahead but I am still optimistic we can do what we did in the cup last year.

“I am still optimistic we can do that in spite of the depleted resources.”

FA Cup, Milton Keynes Dons v AFC Wimbledon

AFC Wimbledon’s leading goalscorer Byron Harrison is back from injury to spearhead the Dons’ attack at Stadium mk.

Harrison, with eight goals to his name, is available for selection for tomorrow’s FA Cup second round clash along with a host of names finally climbing off the treatment table.

Pim Balkestein, out since mid-September, and Mat Mitchel-King, who has struggled since returning in the FA Cup replay against York City, took part in a reserve game on Tuesday night. Both are available for the Franchise clash – although lack of match fitness may keep them out.

Luke Moore is also back in first team training after recovering from a knee injury and is available for selection.

Meanwhile, Rashid Yussuff, Sammy Moore, Jason Prior, Warren Cummings and Brendan Kiernan are nearing a return to action.

superclasico

It was Barcelona who won the first El Clasico of the season as they recorded a 3-2 win in the Super Cup first leg at Camp Nou, but the goal Angel Di Maria scored in the dying moments of the match can give los Blancos reason for optimism before the return leg.

It’s been a while since Real Madrid last failed to win any of their first three games, and during pre-season nothing could suggest such a scenario.

If we disregard the 5-2 defeat to Benfica, los Blancos were pretty convincing in all other pre-season friendlies and they were certainly expected to start the league campaign with a bang.

However, Real Madrid could only muster a goalless draw against Valencia in the season opener, while they had to settle for a 3-2 defeat to Barcelona in the Super Cup first leg despite taking the lead through Cristiano Ronaldo.

To make matters worse, los Merengues were beaten by Getafe at the weekend, so they clearly face a mountain to climb in the Super Cup return leg.

New signing Luka Modric could be in contention, while Pepe is set to start after recovering from a concussion.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Casillas – Arbeloa, Ramos, Pepe, Coentrao – Alonso, Khedira – Di Maria, Ozil, Ronaldo – Higuain.

Unlike their fierce rivals, Barcelona have enjoyed a bright start to the season, and their five-point advantage over Real in La Liga is likely to put an extra pressure on their opponents.

The Catalans needed some time to hit the ground running in the Super Cup first leg and they even allowed Real to take the lead, but three quick second-half goalsproved enough for the win.

Victor Valdes’ mistake gave los Blancos a lifeline before the match at Santiago Bernabeu..

Barcelona captain Carles Puyol could be in contention for this high-profile match despite fracturing his cheekbone at the weekend, while David Villa will probably have to wait for his chance on the bench.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Valdes – Dabi Alves, Pique, Puyol, Jordi Alba – Xavi, Busquets, Iniesta – Pedro, Messi, Sanchez.

Torres slashed to 7/4 (from 20/1) for Euro top scorer

Torres slashed to fire Spain to Euro glory

FERNANDO TORRES looks set to fire Spain to European Championship glory according to Ladbrokes.

The bookies have slashed him from 20/1 (before kick off) to 7/4 to be the top tournament goalscorer and have also cut him to 9/2 from 8/1 to win the same award domestically next season.

Spain are trimmed to 9/4 for outright glory and remain heavy favourites to both win their group (1/5) and qualify (1/20).

Ireland are also introduced at 3/1 to qualify for the 2014 World Cup.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said “Torres has hit us for six. As soon as punters saw his name on the team sheet they got stuck into him across all markets and it didn`t take long for them to be paid.”
