Injury problems mount for Ward on his Whaddon Road return
Ward is without long-term injury absentee goalkeeper Scott Bevan (wrist), club captain Matt Gill (knee) and last season’s top scorer Matt Harrold (knee).
Defender Adam Virgo and midfielder Matt Lund are also out, while forward David Clarkson picked up an ankle injury at Aldershot and will also miss the short trip up the M5.
That is likely to mean a recall for Oliver Norburn in an attacking midfield role ahead of the deeper Seanan Clucas and Tom Parkes.
Joe Anyinsah and Fabian Broghammer will be on the flanks, supplying lone front man Tom Eaves, who will return to parent club Bolton Wanderers after tomorrow’s match.
Chelsea loanee Sam Walker will line up in goal, behind a back four of Michael Smith, Cian Bolger, acting skipper Garry Kenneth and left-back Lee Brown.
Irishman Bolger, on loan from Leicester City, made his comeback from an injury against Aldershot giving Ward a welcome defensive boost. more

Injury crisis for Guiseley trip
COLWYN BAY are facing an injury crisis ahead of Saturday’s tough trip to high-flying Guiseley.
With three of Jon Newby’s small squad already ruled out, there also major doubts over four others.
The match is subject to a 9.15am pitch inspection, with more rain forecast for Yorkshire, but if it goes ahead the Seagulls could really be struggling for numbers.
Loanee striker Jamie Rainford (knee, att 6/3), who is scheduled to return to Halifax after this game, and long-term injury victim Tom Smyth (knee, df 11/0) are definitely out and Matty Berkeley (att 8/2) is also unavailable due to work commitments to further weaken Colwyn Bay’s attacking options.
They again look almost certain to be without skipper and central defender Danny Meadowcroft (df 16/0), whose baby daughter Evie is back in hospital, and on top of that there are major injury doubts over Luke Holden (ankle, mf 4/1), Mike Lea (groin, df 17/0) and Gareth Evans (foot, mf 17/3) following the Boxing Day game at Vauxhall Motors. full article
