Friday 23.03.2012 Molde – Strømsgodset

Molde use natural grass at their home stadium. Strømsgodset use artificial grass at their home stadium.

Molde became champions of Tippeligaen 2012, and they should be rated as a title favorite this year as well.
Key midfielder Makthar Thioune has left on a loan deal, but the rest of the squad is still the same. Even Hovland (Def, Sogndal) and Martin Linnes (Def/Mid, Kongsvinger) have been signed since last season.
The american talent Joshua Gatt (Mid/Att) has really impressed this pre-season. His quick pace and work rate makes him a good choice as a winger and as a backup wingback, and I think he will be a very important player for Molde this season.

Strømsgodset are traditionally a very solid home side, but they havent impressed on the road the latest seasons.
For this season, they have lost their star midfielder Mohammed Abu (was on loan from Manchester City) and their experienced defender Glenn Andersen.
They have added wingback Mounir Hamoud from Bodø/Glimt, and former top scorer Peter Kovacs to the club though.

Molde – Strømsgodset ended 2-2 in 2011.

Ole Gunnar Solskjærs reigning champions seem just as strong as last season, and the defense is very improved by the signing of Even Hovland from Sogndal.
Molde were 9-5-1 at home last season, while Strømsgodset were 1-6-8 on the road.
Its the season opener, so its hard to tell how good the teams are at the moment, but I feel Molde will win this game, as they have in-form players like Joshua Gatt (Mid/Att) to make a difference. Home win, money back if only won by one goal.

Molde (-1), 6/10 stakes, odds 1.92@PinnacleSports.
Joshua Gatt (Molde) to score, 4/10 stakes, odds 3.20@Unibet.
